TS1122 Teak Sofa

The TS1122 Teak Sofa is a beautifully built 3-piece living room set that captures the timeless character of traditional Sri Lankan verandah furniture. The set comprises one three-seater sofa, one two-seater sofa, and one single-seater armchair — a generous 3+2+1 arrangement that offers comfortable seating for the whole family and visitors. Each piece is built around a sturdy solid teak frame finished in warm natural teak tones that bring out the rich grain of the timber.

The standout design feature is the bold side panel construction: closely spaced vertical slats set within a sturdy rectangular frame, topped with a gently arched upper rail that gives each piece its distinctive silhouette. Small spherical wooden knob finials at the corners of the back rails add a refined classical accent that elevates the design from purely functional to genuinely characterful. The seats and backrests are upholstered with comfortable foam cushions, providing supportive everyday seating, while the open slatted sides allow for good airflow — a practical advantage in our climate.

The wide, flat wooden armrests are perfect for setting down a cup of tea, a book, or your phone. Built using traditional teak joinery for long-term strength, this set is naturally resistant to warping and insects, and is designed to be the kind of living-room centrepiece that families keep and enjoy for many years. The TS1122 suits classic, colonial-inspired, country, and traditional Sri Lankan interiors, and works equally well in a formal sitting room, family living room, or open verandah-style space.

Care Instructions

Dust the teak frame regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth along the wood grain. Apply teak oil or furniture wax every 6–12 months to maintain the natural lustre and protect the wood. Vacuum fabric surfaces regularly to remove dust and debris. Spot clean any fabric stains promptly with a damp cloth and mild fabric cleaner — blot gently rather than rub. Avoid placing the set in prolonged direct sunlight to prevent the wood from drying and the upholstery from fading. Do not use bleach or harsh chemicals on the upholstery or the wood. Rotate and fluff cushions periodically for even wear and to keep them looking fresh.
